No two diamonds are alike, and their beauty lies in their individuality. When selecting a diamond, experts assess four key characteristics—known as the4Cs—to determine its quality and value:
Cut: The precision of a diamond’s cut determines its brilliance. A well-cut diamond reflects light beautifully, creating the dazzling sparkle that diamonds are known for.
Color: Diamonds range from colorless to shades of yellow and brown, with the most valuable being completely colorless.
Clarity: Natural diamonds often contain tiny inclusions, or internal characteristics, that are formed during their creation. The fewer the inclusions, the rarer the diamond.
Carat Weight: A diamond’s size is measured in carats, with larger diamonds being rarer and more valuable.
Lab-grown diamonds (LGDs) are created in controlled laboratory environments, where advanced technology replicates the natural diamond formation process. While they share the same carbon structure as natural diamonds, they are produced in a matter of days or weeks—unlike the billions of years it takes for a natural diamond to form deep within the Earth.
